3M™ Scotch-Weld™ EPX™ Structural Epoxy Adhesive Multi-surfaces DP460
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ EPX™ EPX™ Structural Adhesive Nozzle
- Two-component adhesive with a 2:1 mixing ratio.
- Durable, stable and solid joints on a multitude of surfaces.
- Quick and easy application.
Description 3M™ Epoxy DP460
DP460 is composed of liquid reactive polymers, which when mixed (2:1 mixing ratio) produce a chemical reaction and form a solid plastic material. Thanks to its easy mixing and 60-minute pot life, it allows users a wide range of application time.
General characteristics
- Excellent resistance to shearing, peeling and vibration.
- Elevada flexibilidad.
- Application on numerous surfaces: ceramics, wood, plastics, metals, electronic components, composites, etc.
- High durability against impacts.
- Extra-strong joints. Eliminates stress concentrations.
- High resistance to heat, chemicals, solvents, moisture and corrosion.
Applications
- Specially designed for the bonding of electronic components.
- Bonding of plastics to metals in production or repair procedures for household appliances.
- Composite bonding with impact resistance.

Instructions for Use – Surface Preparation 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Structural
To ensure maximum durability and adhesion of the joints, it is essential that the areas where it is to be applied are dry, free of rust and clean.
The procedures for the different materials would be as follows:
Metal
- Cleaning with a solvent (acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, isopropyl alcohol or heptane).
- Abrasion with sandblasting or 180 grit abrasives or similar.
- New solvent cleaning.
Plastics and rubber
- Cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.
- Abrasion with 180 grit abrasives or similar.
- New cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.
Glass
- Cleaning with methyl ethyl ketone or acetone.
- Apply a thin coat of primer. Allow to dry for at least 30 minutes at 20-25 ºC before applying the adhesive.
