class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Instructions for Use &#8211; Surface Preparation<\/strong> <strong>3M\u2122 Scotch-Weld\u2122 Epoxy Structural<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure maximum durability and adhesion of the joints, it is essential that the areas where it is to be applied are dry, free of rust and clean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The procedures for the different materials would be as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Metal<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cleaning with a solvent (acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, isopropyl alcohol or heptane).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abrasion with sandblasting or 180 grit abrasives or similar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New solvent cleaning.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Plastics and rubber<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abrasion with 180 grit abrasives or similar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Glass<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cleaning with methyl ethyl ketone or acetone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply a thin coat of primer.
