3M™ Thermally Conductive Epoxy
3M™ Thermally Conductive Epoxy is used in industries such as electronics, automotive and aerospace, where heat dissipation is critical.

Applications
Both adhesives are mainly used in industries such as electronics, automotive and aerospace, where heat dissipation is critical. Applications include:
- Attaching heat sinks to electronic components (such as CPUs, GPUs, power modules) to improve heat transfer.
- Potting of sensors and electronic components that need to measure or withstand high temperatures.
- Structural mounting in electronic devices, such as electric vehicle batteries, solar panels or LED systems, where thermal conductivity and mechanical strength are required.
- Replacement of mechanical fasteners (screws, clips) in applications requiring a permanent and thermally efficient bond.
- Power electronics, where thermal management is essential to avoid overheating and maintain performance.
Choice of epoxy according to application
TC-2810
- High sensitivity electronics: Where electrical isolation is critical (e.g. PCBs, semiconductors, power modules).
- High precision applications: Its low viscosity allows a more controlled application on small or complex components.
- Environments with strict purity requirements: Its low chlorine ion content reduces the risk of corrosion in electronic components.
TC-2707
- Applications less sensitive to electrical insulation: Such as bonding heat sinks in less sensitive systems (e.g. LED lighting, automotive cooling systems).
- Varied surfaces: Its good adhesion to smooth and rough surfaces makes it versatile for general industrial applications.
- Potentially lower cost: Metal fillers are often cheaper than boron nitride, which could make TC-2707 more attractive in budget-constrained projects.
